Un poder es el documento mediante el cual usted autoriza a otra persona (apoderado) a actuar en su nombre. Puede ser general, para administrar sus asuntos de forma amplia, o especial, para un acto específico como vender una propiedad o hacer gestiones en un banco.A power of attorney (poder) is the document through which you authorize another person (your agent) to act on your behalf. It can be general, to manage your affairs broadly, or special, for a specific act such as selling a property or handling bank matters.
Los poderes que se usarán para actos importantes, como transacciones de propiedades, se otorgan en escritura pública. Si el poder se usará fuera de Puerto Rico, puede necesitar trámites adicionales como la apostilla.Powers of attorney used for important acts, like real estate transactions, are executed as public deeds. If the power will be used outside Puerto Rico, it may need additional steps such as an apostille.
